A Formally Designed Integrated Pest Management Decision Process against Grapevine Powdery and Downy Mildews

چکیده
GrapeMilDeWS is an expert-based approach for the integrated pest management (IPM) of two of the major pathogens of grapevine (Vitis vinifera): Erysiphe necator which causes powdery mildew and Plasmopara viticola which causes downy mildew. GrapeMilDeWS has been designed and tested by a team of phytopathologists. It is presented here as a formal model in Statechart. We argue that formal modelling under the Discrete Event System paradigm (DES) is effective to model this kind of Decision Workflow System. The formalism is introduced and the GrapeMilDeWS system thoroughly described. Formal modelling is discussed as a representation of the dynamics of decision making in pest management and as an aid to large scale experiments. Chapter 12

Foliar Fungicides for Control of Diseases on Pumpkins, 2001
Pumpkins for Halloween usage have become a widely grown crop in Tennessee. This season four fungicide treatments were evaluated for efficacy at The University of Tennessee Plateau Experiment Station at Crossville in 2001. Foliar diseases require a strict spray schedule for effective control. Therefore, a well balanced Integrated Pest Management program for control of mildew and blight diseases ...

BACKGROUND Metrafenone has been used in Europe in integrated pest management programmes since 2006 to control powdery mildews, including Erysiphe necator. Its exact mode of action is not known, but it is unique among fungicide classes used in powdery mildew management. Recently, resistance to metrafenone was reported in Blumeria graminis f. sp. tritici. In this study we investigated metrafenone...
متن کاملIdentification and Assessment of Fungal Diseases of Major Medicinal Plants
Medicinal plants are infected by fungal diseases. A four years survey indicated that, there are various fungal infections in roots and shoots of several medicinal plants that grown in Isfahan. Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia), rosemarry (Rosmarinus officinalis) and viper’s bugloss (Borago officinalis) plants were infected by Fusarium oxysporum and F. solani on roots, showing wilting and eventu...
متن کاملPercentage distribution of foliicolous fungi of Maharashtra, India with respect to their disease symptoms: a novel study
Fungal spores are continuously deposited on the leaf surfaces by wind impaction, sedimentation and rain wash-out from the atmosphere and splash-dispersal. They reside and act as asymptomatic mutualists, benign commensals or latent pathogens. A slight imbalance in this relation can lead to pathogenic phase of the fungi, resulting in a variety of symptoms on leaves viz. discoloration, blight, soo...

Field surveys were conducted in 3 major grapevine growing districts in Tamil Nadu viz., Coimbatore, Theni and Dindugal. The downy mildew infection on leaves was the highest (PDI 76.92 in Cumbum of Theni district. In the survey on the incidence of powdery mildew showed that the highest incidence of PDI on leaves, inflorescence and fruits in Cumbum of Theni with records of 65.49, 63.56, 61.23 per...
